One day, when I was daydreaming, I realized that if all the available land on the planet was divided among all of Earth’s inhabitants, each person would roughly receive four acres. Since every acre is connected to another, what I do with my four acres is vital to the health of those around me. The bigger the disruptions, the harder it is to return to normal. I want my negative impact to be minimal at best, and my positive impact to be huge with the reverberations creating change in others.
Thus the 4(for) green acres concept was born. It’s based on the hypothetical number of acres (4) each person would receive as well as the intention (for) of making green choices. The Rules of the concept are simple. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose. What I eat, how I decorate, what creative endeavors I pursue, try to fall under the umbrella of the Rules.
Can you help??
Want to join the movement by cultivating your own 4(for) acres, but not sure how? Introducing the new monthly challenges. Each month I will post a challenge that is designed to stretch your creativity, test your will power, and pull your awareness to the footstep you are leaving behind. By participating in these challenges and sharing them with others you are spreading the message. Over time, those around us will be making better choices as well. The goal is not to change how you live your life, but rather think about the implications of those choices and tweek them for the best outcome.
Let others know you are cultivating your own acres and encourage them to do the same. Grab the link below and add it to your blog or website, and don't forget to tweet or facebook the message!
